Hello, I’m Heidi, an indie-published author of nine books across four genres, including children’s, women’s fiction, two cookbooks, and non-fiction. My path to writing was paved by a lifelong love of reading and a career as rich as my inspiration. After thirty years in telecommunications, I co-founded Hekla Publishing with my mother, a fellow author, to promote and distribute our titles celebrating our Icelandic heritage. In 2025, I added the imprint Pink Viking Press, dedicated to women’s fiction. My current focus is women’s fiction with mature (midlife) protagonists and I’m excited about my current 4-book series, "Life’s a Rodeo".

I split my time between Arizona and South Dakota, and I’m an active member of the Arizona Authors Association, the Non-Fiction Authors Association, Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers, Western Writers of America, and the Women’s Fiction Writers Association. These days, I focus on women's fiction, support fellow indie authors on their own publishing journeys, and always find time for adventure between projects, speaking, travel, and kitchen experiments.
